Happy New Year 2008! Bob Caldwell wrote that he and B. J. along with their youngest son are moving at the end of November about 1 ½ miles from where they are now in Logan Township, N.J., to gain more room, 2 garages and a basement. Bob is a serious road cyclist, logging on average over 5000 miles a year. Bob says that if anyone gets down to the Rehoboth area, look him up. (856 904-3465). He goes on to say that he remembers being down at the brick dump with Mike C, Bob Olock, Mike Ashby and the group thinking that we had such a long time to graduation and how long three years was going to be and thinking we would never graduate. It seems like a blink and all of a sudden we have been out nearly 30 years. Remember the Alumni Days in the shop and all those old guys would come thru and tell us how Williamson was the best of times for them and all we wanted to do was get out? We have become that generation, and that he thinks about us guys a lot and about the times we had at Williamson.
Heard from Tom Reilly, and he asked that I write something about Stig's ability to hit a golf ball. He was driving the ball 300 yards plus in a game that they played a few weeks ago (October). Great guy to have on your scramble team. Tom says that he has never played golf with a person that hit the ball that far consistently. Matt checked in. Says he was up here one weekend recently to see his folks. In a short note, Gov says Hi from the Indy.
Wags emailed from Louisiana, by asking if I was “going up the mall”. He said to tell Ganny and Gary they can run but they can't hide forever, they're going to have to see him eventually! He and his wife Connie just celebrated their twentieth anniversary, plus he just turned 50. He is only on his second job since Willy, the first with Gulf States Utilities, and now with Stupp Corp. in Baton Rouge, where he is one of their control systems engineers in the formation of steel line pipe.
I attended the 5 year reunion dinner that WTS this year to do some recon for our own event. I spoke to Stroff and Glenn Artman, as well as some guys from 7W7. I can’t wait to see how you guys have changed! Thanks for taking time to complete our survey on the venue. As I write, Walt is tabulating the results and we will fill you in on the website HYPERLINK "http://www.7W8.org" www.7W8.org. Keep checking the website, for we intend to freshen it up frequently, with expanded Class Notes and pictures as well as Reunion updates and a few surprises. On a sad note, we lost “Boss” Stevick in late October. I was lucky enough to see him a few times a year at Alumni meetings the past few years. Those of us “Dekkies” will recall how you never knew when he would show up on your “job” on campus, via his bicycle. Then he would disappear to the back kitchen with Stacy, Irene and Mary. Remember how we could get him to switch over to “war stories” in Theory, and when we kidded him on how he pronounced “water”. I wish you all a great 2008! Trex A-67 |
